Ontario Energy Board (OEB) Approves Rate Increase Effective May 1, 2022

THE OEB APPROVES RATE INCREASE EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2022.


Newmarket-Tay Rate Zone (NTRZ) and Midland Rate Zone (MRZ) distribution rates will see an increase of 2.7% and 3.15% respectively. The annual adjustment mechanism details can be found in Section 4 of the Decision and Order listed below. As a result of the decision, there will be a monthly total bill increase in the amount of $3.86 in the Newmarket-Tay rate Zone and $4.11 in the Midland Rate Zone for a residential customer consuming 750 kWh’s effective May 1, 2022. These changes do not factor in applicable taxes or the OER.
