Metrolinx is expanding to serve you better, with more frequent service, cleaner technology and transforming GO Transit to bring more frequent two-way, all-day service to the Barrie line, which serves the Newmarket community. The Barrie Go line expansion will provide easier ways to seamlessly get where you need to go.
As part of the project to facilitate the electrification of the provincial Metrolinx GO Expansion program, NT Power must relocate existing electricity distribution lines across the railway tracks at multiple locations to allow for the removal of any conflicts with overhead cables running over the Barrie corridor, ensuring future support for electrification.
